Taxi Trips

This day trip will take you around four hours. The driver will first take you to the Shiva Vihara temple complex with its 16-meters high golden coloured statue of Lord Shiva. The complex also contains several other beautifully decorated structures such as a large Sivalingam centered between 2-large Elephants, Churning of the Seas fable, Nadarajah – Lord Shiva in dance form, and other interesting depictions from the pantheon of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs and mythology.

From there, the taxi will take you to Fo Guang San, which is a large sanctuary designed according to Taiwanese architecture and art. Every detail of the temple is ecstatically pleasing, with great care being given to the authenticity of its gate, gardens, outer façade and inner sanctum. While on the outside, there is nice decorated Bell Tower and Drum Tower, and the huge golden Kuan Yin statue.

Finally, the driver will take you to Fashion Island, which is a big department store with a range of restaurants as well. The driver will leave you there to take your time enjoying your lunch and shopping both local and international brands. When you are finished, you can easily take a taxi outside the department store back to Barefeet which is only 7 km. away.

Shiva Vihara

This temple complex covers an area of over 15 acres, with the highlight being a 16-meters high golden coloured statue of Lord Shiva. The complex also contains several other large and beautifully decorated structures such as a large Sivalingam centered between 2-large Elephants, Churning of the Seas fable, Nadarajah – Lord Shiva in dance form, and other interesting depictions from the pantheon of Hindu and Buddhist beliefs and mythology.

Fo Guang San

This large sanctuary is designed according to Taiwanese architecture and art. Every detail of the temple is ecstatically pleasing, with great care being given to the authenticity of its gate, gardens, outer façade and inner sanctum.

The main temple hall features ornately crafted Ubosot, Avalokitesvara Hall, Buddharangsee Chedi, and Vipassana Room. While on the outside, there is nice decorated Bell Tower and Drum Tower, and the huge golden Kuan Yin statue. Under this statute is a shrine with Kuan Yin in 4 poses of blessing, namely the Prathan Son Prang, Prang Prathan Phorn, and Prathan Sap Prang. and Pang Chairman of Fortune

Guests have the option of returning to Barefeet Resort, or being dropped at Fashion Island Mall after the trip. Taxis are easily available from the mall back to the resort.
